Après des années d'expositions provisoires et intérimaires pendant la restauration du bâtiment Semper au Zwinger, la nouvelle présentation réussie de peintures et de sculptures avant 1800 a été inaugurée en février 2020 et accueillie avec enthousiasme par le public. C’est sûr, il faut du temps pour profiter d’une visite de cette galerie, car ce ne sont plus seulement les peintures des anciens maîtres, dont 700 sont exposées - d’ailleurs même plus qu’avant la restauration - mais aussi la célèbre collection de sculptures d’antiquités de Dresde et celle des précieuses statuettes en bronze renaissance et baroques, qui peuvent désormais aussi déployer tout leur effet dans la nouvelle présentation.

Highlight 2024 : Dresden City Festival

Every year, 500,000 visitors are expected to attend the Dresden City Festival. During three days, different thematic scenes allow visitors to appreciate both the modern charm of the city and the history of the city and the House of Wettin. There are activities for all tastes and ages. It is the largest festival of its kind in Germany and the highlight of the year in Dresden. We also recommend the Grape Harvest Festival and the travelling street theatre held every autumn in the Radebeul district.
